SOLAR ACTIVITY ALERT - X-CLASS CME

HAPPENING NOW: A strong solar eruption lasting from 7:02pm-7:40pm ET is causing an R3 (strong) radio blackout. An Earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) is likely. NOAA is monitoring the solar event to alert for impacts to power grid, aviation, communications, GPS, and other critical infrastructure.
