#YellowstoneSupervolcano Update 13.08.2014:
Well, not to add to the Internet Alternative Media hype re: The Predictions of a Yellowstone Supervolcano Eruption, the USGS issued a statement late on a Friday.
We at MP have been following the misinformation and rumors about the activity: uplift, quakes, geothermals, Helium-4 release, etc. for many months and are not predicting an eruption.

The "Nothing to see Here" approach by the USGS is unsettling at best.
Posted below are the original Statement and tweet a day later, recent #quake info, and links.
Please monitor this post and comments for latest information on #Yellowstone.

Breaking: Bardarbunga Volcano in Iceland Erupts, Red Alert issued - New Eruption Papua, New Guinea | BBC/AccuWeather/dnai

Seismic Alert 29.08.2014:

Iceland's Bardarbunga Volcano begins as a "Fissure Eruption" - Red Alert Over Iceland - No Fly Zone declared

The eruption started in Holuhraun, north of Dyngjujökull, which is located in northern Vatnajökull,
just after midnight Friday, local time.

As reported on MP earlier this week, there have been some strong earthquakes associated with another point in the Bardarbunga complex which may explain a smaller initial eruption, being labeled as #Fissure eruptions:

The Democratic Republic of Congo confirmed its two first cases of Ebola this year, but claimed they were unrelated to the epidemic raging in four countries of West Africa.

Congolese health minister Felix Kabange Numbi said that two of eight samples taken from victims of a mystery fever had tested positive for Ebola.
"The results are positive. The Ebola virus is confirmed in DRC," Mr Kabange told AFP.
Speaking later on public television, he said the confirmation marked the seventh outbreak of Ebola in DR Congo, where the virus was first identified in 1976 near the Ebola River.
But he said the two new cases had "no link to [the epidemic] raging in West Africa" and were different strains from one another.

Authorities immediately imposed a quarantine around the affected area in Equateur province near Jera, more than 750 miles northeast of the Congolese capital Kinshasa.
Medical aid group Medecins Sans Frontieres said it was sending a crew to help handle patients in the area.

The UN's World Health Organization (WHO) meanwhile announced that one of its health experts, an epidemiologist, had been infected while working in Sierra Leone.
The sobering news of Ebola's spread came as UN officials

Volcano Alert: Bardarbunga in Iceland Eruption in Progress/Red Alert declared - Live Video Stream - 3D #quakemap | dutchsinse/weather.com

Seismic Alert 24.08.2014:
Iceland's Bardarbunga Volcano has begun to erupt.  No Ash is being released at this time, yet a Sub Glacial Eruption is in Progress.
The Airspace over the Volcano is closed and Red Alert issued for the area.

Iceland's Meteorological Office says a small lava eruption has begun underneath a glacier at the #Bardarbunga volcano, prompting the country to close the airspace over the volcano, the Associated Press reports. Seismic data showed ice melting beneath the Vatnajokull glacier, but it remains unclear if or when the eruption would break through the ice, sending ash and steam into the air. Scientists say it could take up to a day for the ice to melt - or the eruption might remain contained beneath Europe's largest glacier."The thicker the ice, the more water there is, the more explosive it will be and the more ash-rich the eruption will be," Icelandic Meteorological Office vulcanologist Melissa Pfeffer said. - AP

The 3D map of earthquakes under Bárðarbunga.
Twenty-four-year-old Icelandic programmer Bæring Gunnar Steinþórsson at CCP has set up a webpage showing the seismic activity underthe Bárðarbunga volcano, located under Vatnajökull glacier, in 3D.Bæring uses the data from apis.is, visir.is reports. The data gives the depth and magnitude of each earthquake as well as the GPS coordinates. “This makes it easy to work with the data,” Bæring said. His 3D graph shows the activity hour by hour and can be rotated to show the activity from different angles.  The earthquakes have been continuing since the weekend and show no signs of letting up but there is also no sign of an eruption yet. The earthquakes have been below a magnitude 3.0 during the last 48 hours but before that there were some between 3.0 and 4.0. - Iceland Review - See more at: http://madtownpreppers.blogspot.com/#sthash.VD7l2rh7.dpuf
