Model Forecast
Winter Storm Magnus will continue to manufacture snow in parts of the Upper Midwest.  Here's what you need to know Wednesday afternoon and evening:
  • Snow ends:  Eastern Iowa, northern Missouri, most of southern Wisconsin  
  • Snow continues/develops:  Central/northeast Wisconsin, northern Illinois, northern Indiana, northern Michigan
  • Total snow accumulation:  See our latest forecast map
  • Wind:  Strong west to northwest winds will persist over the western Great Lakes, eastern Iowa and northern Missouri.  Reduced visibilities are likely in Upper Michigan, western and northern Lower Michigan, and eastern Wisconsin.
  • Cities affected:  Chicago, Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Marquette
Lake-effect snow, heavy in some snowbelt areas, will persist Thursday and Friday in the Great Lakes in the wake of Magnus.

Here's what you need to know about Wednesday morning's drive as it pertains to Winter Storm Magnus:
  • Snow:  Northern Missouri, central/eastern Iowa, southern/central/northeast Wisconsin, U.P. of Michigan.  
  • Heaviest snow:  Iowa to central Wisconsin, with some lake-enhancement off Lake Superior into the U.P. of Michigan.
  • Wind:  Strong northwest winds from eastern Nebraska into Iowa, northeast Kansas, northern Missouri.  Strong north winds off Lake Superior.  Some blowing snow/reduced visibilities expected.
  • Cities affected:  Kansas City, Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Madison, Green Bay

    Turn on TWC on Satellite or Cable right now
    Look at the National Map Radar/Saetllite Time Lapse
    These are played Loc al on the 8's
    Notice the distinct Circular White Pulse Pattern coming out of Central Western States.
    No other weather around the bright pulse flashes.

    Not chasing Ghosts anymore, It's there.
